Breastroke Glide
The breastroke glide is all about keeping your body as aerodynamic as possible. You enter the glide just after you have come up for a breath. The steps to an effective glide are as follows.
Do not bring your body too far out of the water for your breath. The more you bring your body out of the wate, the farther you will sink in your glide. Try to stay as level and even as possible.
When you Thrust your arms forward be sure to keep your palms together, and your fingers together and pointed forward. (This guy says to stay in the glide for 3-5 seconds, which is very wrong. maybe he ment for a count of 3-5. Watch the video he only glides for a brief moment.)
So you got your breath, and you are finishing your breastroke pull (thrusting your arms forward) At that ssame time you want to finish your breastroke kick. You should have begun your kick when you lift your head to get a breath.
As you push your arms forward, kick your legs. The breastroke glide will be with your arms pointing ahead of you, and your legs straight behind you. Hold this for a very brief moment and begin your next pull.
